Active Shooter Response Training for Venues & Live Event Teams
Reality-based active shooter response training that prepares tour personnel, event staff, and live production teams to respond decisively across venues, cities, and environments.

Live Events Don’t Happen in Controlled Environments
Live event teams operate in constantly changing venues with different layouts, access points, crowd dynamics, and local resources. When a critical incident occurs, there is no time to learn a new building or improvise a response. Without training that prepares teams to think, communicate, and act under pressure, confusion spreads quickly and risk escalates.
Las Vegas Shooting: 59 Killed & More Than 500 Hurt Near Mandalay Bay
Following the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting in 2017, founder Brink Fidler traveled to learn directly from first responders and conducted more than 700 hours of event footage analysis. Those insights directly inform how we prepare live event teams to operate under pressure and in motion, helping them prepare and respond decisively when it matters most.

Training Built for Teams That Move
Defend Systems delivers active shooter response training designed specifically for live event and touring environments. Rather than focusing on a single facility, our training equips teams with adaptable decision-making frameworks they can apply across amphitheaters, stadiums, festivals, and temporary venues.
What Training for Venues & Live Event Teams Includes
Venue-Agnostic Response Frameworks
Training emphasizes adaptable response principles that work across different venue types and layouts.
Tour Team–Focused Training
Instruction is tailored to the specific roles and needs of each tour, including tour managers, production leads, road crews, and support staff.
Crowd, Artist, & Crew Considerations
Programs address decision-making that considers artists, crews, vendors, and large crowds simultaneously.
Practical, Responsible Instruction
Training is delivered without fear-based messaging, ensuring teams leave confident and prepared.
Rapid Response Medical Training
Approximately 25% of our program focuses on life-saving medical response. Because first responders cannot render aid until the threat is neutralized, it's vital that your team is prepared to control bleeding and stabilize those who may be injured in those critical first minutes. This portion is specifically tailored for civilians and does not include graphic imagery.
Did you know? At the Route 91 Harvest festival shooting in Las Vegas, many attendees were current or former law enforcement officers, military personnel, or experienced outdoorsmen with trauma medical training. These individuals used their rapid response skills to treat those around them, helping save countless lives.

Voices From the Field

Defend Systems active shooter, CPR/AED, and NAEMT courses have given my team the education to assist in saving lives while on the job and in our private lives. The cadre of Defend Systems are truly subject matter experts in their fields, with training in simulated real-life scenarios. Our team was put through the stress and rigor of what real life-saving situations would entail. I have often pointed many clients and peers in the direction of Defend Systems for this training.

I want to thank the Defend Systems team for your Tactical Emergency Casualty Care course. I spoke to both my team members and as expected they both had rave reviews about the training—everything from the classroom to the practical hands-on. One actually made the comment that Defend Systems offered a better, more in-depth training than what he had in his military training with the U.S. Air Force. On behalf of myself and my team, THANK YOU for the attention to detail.
